The Milpitas Community Education Foundation (MCEF) is pleased to introduce the Donors Choose Closer Grant this year. This grant is given out three times a year (Sep 15, Dec 15, and Mar 15). It is for MUSD teachers who have initiated a Donors Choose project of up $1000, and  currently funded 80% by donors, and the need help in completing the remaining 20%. Winners are drawn on a random basis, and we will make donations to those winning projects to complete them. The funding is only for the project cost and does not fund DonorsChoose. The total amount available per period is $300.​​

Grant Timeline

• If your donors choose project total cost is $1000 or less, and you have received donor support of at least 80% of the total project cost, and your project does NOT expire until after Sep 15, Dec 15, and Mar 15, you can apply for this "completer" grant. Maximum donation is $200 per project. 

• There is no guarantee that your project will be selected for this grant as we are picking projects at random. We will make donations on Sep 15, Dec 15, and Mar 15, and will fund whatever is remaining as the project cost on that project. We will not fund any extra donations to Donors Choose.

• You must apply by Sep 1, Dec 1, and Mar 1 in order to be considered and should have reached 80% funding by that time.
