requirements

  • Artwork must be an original work of the submitter/student.
  • Artwork is limited to one entry per submitter/student and only in one category.
  • Artwork must be submitted as a high resolution (minimum of 2400 x 2400 pixels) image of the original artwork.
  • Each file needs to be under 5 Megabytes in size.
  • The submission must be in .jpg or .png format.
  • The artwork can represent the following mediums: drawing or painting (e.g. pencil, charcoal, colored pencils, oil paints, acrylics, water media, mixed media/collage) and original digital creations.
  • Each piece of artwork must be accompanied by a submission agreement if the submitters is an adult (18+) or a parent submission agreement for a student submission.
  • All submissions must be done through this website by Friday, November 13, 2020 by 5pm PST.

judging

There will a panel of 3 judges for each of the categories
  • Adult T-shirt design category
  • Adult Logo design category
  • Student T-shirt design category
Depending on the number of entries, there may be a preliminary round of judging and a final round of judging. Stay tuned on the website for the latest information. If there is a preliminary round, the artwork of winners of the preliminary round will be shown on MCEE's and/or Milpitas Beat's websites.

Currently, the judging timeline is:
  • Panel of judges to convene during week of Nov 30.
  • All scoring to be completed by Dec 6.
  • Final checks on Dec 7-9
  • Announcement of Winners, Dec 17, 5pm PST.

criteria

​Entries will be evaluated based on how well the submission meets the requirements, originality, overall appearance, and how well the art piece communicates what it means to be Milpitas Strong.

milpitas Strong
ART contest

To foster community pride, the Milpitas Community Educational Endowment, The Milpitas Beat, and the Milpitas Chamber of Commerce are holding a contest for residents to express themselves through art by explaining what "Milpitas Strong" means to them.

eligibilty

Contest is open to all Milpitas residents, although students (up to age 17) can only participate in the student contest.
