MCEE celebrates women's History MOnth

On March 26, MCEE in partnership with the FongSong Life Foundation celebrated Women's History Month by donating 250 copies of the Yvonne Lin's book "The A-Z of Wonder Women". Yvonne was able to join us at our four Title 1 schools, Weller, Randall, Rose, and Burnett as she talked about what's it like to be an award winning product designer and consultant and author. She read her book to the 3rd grade students and the FongSong foundation was able to donate 250 copies of her book to each student. MCEE along with the schools want to thank Yvonne for her time, and the FongSong foundation for their generosity.

6th Annual STEAM showcase a huge success

On Saturday, March 9, we held our 6th Annual STEAM showcase. We had 240+ students participating, representing every one of the schools in MUSD, and representation in every grade level, from Kindergarten to 12th grade. It was held at the San Jose City College, Milpitas Extension, and we had over 600+ people join us to see the hard work that our students produced. There over 100 projects that included robotics, programming, experiments, games illustrating STEAM concepts, and art integrated/inspired technology. We also had distinguished guests that included Assemblyman Kansen Chu, Mayor Rich Tran, MUSD Board President Chris Norwood, and MUSD Board VP Hon Lien, Superintendent Cheryl Jordan, Assistant Superintendent Norma Rodriguez, Assistant Superintendent Jonathan Brunson, and Former Sunnyvale Mayor Otto Lee.

We also want to give a BIG THANKS to the STEAM showcase committee: Karen Muska, Brenda Lebeck, Kimi Schmidt, Chin Song, Yolie Garcia, Robert Jung. Also, we want to thank Michael Mooney and his staff at the San Jose City College, Milpitas Extension for all their support in making this event happen.

MCEE REaches its $100K Milestone!

Picture
The Milpitas Community Educational Endowment has reached its initial goal for raising $100,000 for the endowment this month. This positions the organization to start distributing roughly 5% ($5,000) of its value annually back to the Milpitas Unified School District. The distribution will roughly at the start of each school year in September. The goal was reached roughly 6 months ahead of its own schedule and It also allows MCEE to start planning its programs and goals for the next 5 years, through June 2024. We are super proud and thankful for all our supporters from the last 9+ years! If you want to help get us a head start on our next funding goal, please make a donation online, using the button below. THANK YOU!

This year, MCEE will host donation drives for three school organizations: MHS Theatre, Rancho International Trip, and the MHS Xtreme Robotics Club. We feel these three organizations are trying to provide extraordinary experiences to our Milpitas students and we would like to help. We will provide a receipt that may be used for tax purposes. As always, please confer with your tax professional on the applicability of your donations. Click on each of their logos  to read their stories and donate.
