Girls of Magic - 2020

Picture
On May 20, the MAGIC class of 2020, completed their presentations of their projects, culminating their journey into STEAM. More Active Girls in Computing, or MAGIC is run by magic.org, who is a partner with MCEE to bring this program to MUSD. It pairs a working professional woman with our middle school girls and they meet on a weekly basis to explore STEAM. This is our 3rd  year offering the program and we're proud to continue to inspire our young girls in the world of STEAM. Our eight students demonstrated presentation skills as well as some awesome projects. Congratulations to all the girls and a huge thank you to the Mentors, our Program Managers, and the MAGIC organization for their continued partnership.

MCEE on track with its 5 year goals, Need your support to double endowment

Provided by CoolFundraisingIdeas.net

This past year was especially challenging given the COVID-19 pandemic. Almost all of our fundraising activities had to be shut down during the Shelter In Place order. We were fortunate that we had already applied for grants, and had pledged donations before the Shelter in Place that allowed us to actually exceed our $20,000 annual goal for last year. We expect that the first half of the year will continue to be very difficult to do fundraising, so we are looking at alternatives. We plan on leaving our five year fundraising goal is to double the size of the endowment from $100,000 to $200,000 in the next 5 years (by June 2024). This will allow us to provide a $10,000 annual grant to the Milpitas Unified School District, compared to our current annual grant of $5,000. Please join us with your support (financial or volunteering) and ideas. Feel free to reach us at info@mceefoundation.org
