College Prep Scholarship - 2020 (SAT)

The Milpitas Community Educational Endowment in partnership with Excel Test Prep recognizes the importance of higher education in our local community especially to those in financial need. This scholarship is available to the Milpitas High School Class of 2021 who would like to attend college but are financially challenged to prepare for college entrance.

This year we are offering up to three MHS juniors the opportunity to take college exam prep courses. These scholarships will be awarded in Jan 2020 and are worth approximately $900 each.


ELIGIBILITY

  • Must be a junior at Milpitas High School, graduating in the Class of 2021
  • Must have a minimum 2.5 GPA, and provide an unofficial copy of your high school transcript
  • Must plan on attending a 2 or 4 year college or university
  • Must be on free/reduced lunch
  • Must compose a 500 word essay on the following topic:
How college will help me reach my dreams?

DEADLINE

Deadline: Tuesday, January 21, 2020 3pm in San Jose City College, Milpitas Extension, 1450 Escuela Parkway, ATTN: Mr. Mooney.
  • Each application must have a completed coverpage attached to the essay (download from below)
  • All applications must be turned by the deadline to the SJCC-Milpitas Extension attn: Mike Mooney.
  • MHS & MCEE will have a committee to review the applications and select the top essays that are most inspiring.
  • MCEE will select up to three winners and will contact winners by email. Tentative date for winner notifications: January 27, 2020
